About imPACT
imPACT is a free programme, created by Cariocca Enterprises and Dynamic Heights, designed to break down barriers and create real career opportunities for BAME Youth in Greater Manchester.
We equip young people with the skills, confidence, and connections they need to succeed in their chosen industries. But we don’t stop at training—we work to secure internships that give our participants direct access to the professional world, ensuring they leave not just prepared, but with experience to navigate their futures in the professional world.
Our vision is to empower BAME youth in Greater Manchester to break through barriers and step into spaces they once saw as out of reach, unlocking opportunities that transform their futures.

In the UK, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) young adults face a greater risk of being unemployed than their white counterparts and are at a greater chance of being in precarious work (Youthemployment.org, 2020). Additionally, according to the Youth Futures Foundation (2022), evidence shows that a good degree is not enough - with BAME graduates being less likely to obtain a secure, well-paid job.
There is a clear barrier to entry into professional careers for BAME youth, driven by both overt and covert discrimination, as well as a lack of industry connections that are often crucial for securing opportunities. Without targeted interventions, these systemic barriers will continue to hinder career progression for ethnic minority youth.
Cariocca Enterprises aims to tackle this issue in Greater Manchester through our imPACT career training and mentoring programme, and also by matching participants of the programme with internships at partnering organisations. Collectively, young people, organisations and programmes like Cariocca’s imPACT can work together to drive meaningful change by breaking down barriers to professional employment.
